I’ve just completed a new acrylic painting based on a photo that my son took when out walking in Yorkshire. It is very rare that I work off other people’s imagery but I felt so drawn to the scene that I had to respond to it. I feel quite drawn to remote buildings surrounded by nature and the lighting was so inspiring. The title is ‘Autumn Rain’, chosen because I liked the way it sounded but also because it’s a description of what was happening in the landscape at the time! But as with all of my work, there are also other meanings below the surface but that’s up to the viewer to discover. You can find the new work in the ‘Natural Landscapes’ section of my website.
